To answer some of the most commonly asked questions, here are some important things to know about the SAT:

  •      The deadlines are posted above and it is possible to sign up past the registration deadline. However, you will need to pay an extra fee. You cannot sign up past the late registration deadline.
  •      When signing up for the SAT, you can order the Question and Answer Services (QAS), which will tell you your incorrect answers and provide the correct answer with the correct explanation.  In the past, the QAS showed the exact problems from the test you took.   But for security reasons, the Collegeboard has discontinued this practice and the QAS will not show the actual problems.
  •      You can take the SAT as many times as you would like and most colleges allow students to Super-score their scores. This means a student can take their best Verbal score from an SAT and combine it with their best Math score from another SAT to give a score to submit to colleges. Many high tier schools require your best score on a single day, banning the Super-score process.  Schools in the Ivy League and near-Ivies like MIT will require every SAT you have taken.
  •      Preparing for the SAT is important and we recommend reviewing for a month to two months before taking the test.
